Sensex Today | Stock Market Live: Indian stock market benchmarks traded higher on Tuesday, October 13, with Sensex up 471.46 points or 0.66 percent at 72,396.14, and the Nifty up 145.95 points or 0.65 percent at 22,509.30. About 1561 shares advanced, 2119 shares declined, and 178 shares unchanged. IT stocks led the rally, with the sectoral index surging 3.26 percent, driven by strong gains in HCL Tech, TCS and Tech Mahindra. FMCG and banking stocks also advanced, while Media, Energy and Pharma traded lower. Broader markets underperformed, with smallcaps declining 0.79 percent and midcaps edging up 0.15 percent. Market breadth remained negative, with 1,580 advances against 2,051 declines, even as India VIX fell 4.85 percent.
