Closing Bell: Sensex sinks 548 pts, Nifty below 22,400; IT, FMCG and financial stocks drag
Biggest Nifty losers were Tech Mahindra, ITC, L&T, Hindalco, HUL, while gainers included Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Bajaj Auto, Bharat Electronics, BSE Limited and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. On the sectoral front, Nifty Media index added 4.6%, Auto index up 0.9%, Realty index added 1% and pharma index rose 0.3%, while Nifty IT, Metal, Private Bank, PSU Bank, FMCG down 0.4-1%. The Nifty midcap index ended flat, while smallcap index added 1.4 percent.
